Background

AlburyCity is a key part of one of the nation’s most productive and progressive regional centres. The population of Albury has been growing consistently over the past two decades, generating demand for a range of goods and services which creates opportunities for business, while also providing a substantial workforce to support businesses to operate and grow within the region. While showing promising growth, Albury has not been immune to workforce shortages, supply chain disruptions, housing shortages, and a transitioning energy sector.

Project Goals

To navigate a changing economic and demographic landscape, AlburyCity needed a new Economic Development Strategy that leveraged the unique assets of the region to improve the wellbeing and quality of life for the community.

REMPLAN’s Involvement

REMPLAN conducted broad ranging desktop research, a suite of stakeholder engagement workshops and targeted industry sessions, and rigorous economic and demographic analysis using our inhouse software suite.

Results

The Albury Economic Development Strategy 2023-2027 was formally adopted by AlburyCity on 25 September 2023.
