Background
Australia’s population is aging. With this aging profile, the demand for services changes and is represented in the nation’s rapidly expanding health care sector. As one part of broader health funding, the Australian Government provides a pool of funding through the Home Care Packages Program (HCPP). The HCPP subsidises home-based care services and support for elderly Australian’s and those living with a disability, assisting them to remain active and connected to their communities by continuing to live independently in their home for as long as possible. These home care services are delivered by a range of private and not-for-profit organisations.
CentacareCQ is the longest running, not-for-profit local social services organisation in Central Queensland, providing professional community services for over 40 years. With over 340 staff and many dedicated volunteers, CentacareCQ are a large, vibrant and well-respected community organisation that provide a broad range of services including home care packages.
Project Goals
With growing demand brought about by an aging population, CentacareCQ was seeking to understand the range of support services that will be needed by the communities within their region into the future. This information would inform decision making around the provision of resources to service the level of need within their community.
At a more detailed level, CentacareCQ were seeking the ability to look at discrete locations within the Diocese with regard to influencing factors such as:
REMPLAN’s Involvement
The insights delivered through REMPLAN’s analysis and modelling provided CentacareCQ with unique and actionable insights. In addition to the modelling and profiling outcomes, REMPLAN’s skilled data team were also able to analyse and present CentacareCQ’s own data back to them in a manner that provide the organisation with new information.
Results
REMPLAN’s analysis, delivered through a detailed report, provided a comprehensive baseline of the Precinct’s performance against key metrics. The project monitoring framework gives the Project Office clear quantifiable metrics to report against, while the custom dashboard delivers this information in a format that is both easy to interpret and access.
