For government and university clients the Business Analysis Module (BAM) in your REMPLAN Economy software incorporates sorted and geo-coded  Australian Business Register (ABR) data. This provides an up-to-date database of local businesses that you can update, sort, filter and map in a number of ways.

BAM has a broad range of applications, providing insights in to how your region’s business environment is changing over time as well as enabling Council’s to engage with their business community.

Want to know how many ‘Creative Industry’ businesses are operating in your area? BAM allows you to create custom industry sectors at a very fine level of detail so you can easily list and locate a group of businesses.

What about home-based businesses? Many clients upload their planning zones so they can identify businesses registered in residential areas or in commercial precincts. The mapping interface in BAM is extremely flexible and as businesses are geo-coded to a street address, your maps are not limited to predefined geographies or regions. Basically, if you can draw it, we can put it in your software.

For Victorian Local Government clients, one useful application of BAM is to help with your reporting to the State Government through the Local Government Performance Reporting Framework (LGPRF). This includes reporting on new entries and actively trading businesses within your municipality.

Under the LGPRF not all entities with an ABN are included as ‘businesses’ for reporting purposes. For example, government entities, superannuation entities and a range of industry sectors should be excluded from your figures when reporting.

To make accessing this information simple, we have reintroduced the predefined LGPRF query that filters your business list in accordance with reporting requirements. Easy!
