27 Jun REMPLAN Tourism Data Update – Latest Insights
We are pleased to announce that your REMPLAN tourism data has been updated following the release of:
Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), 2016-17 Tourism Satellite Account (TSA)
- Growth in accommodation and food services
- Modest growth in retail trade
- Modest contraction in transport, postal and warehousing
- Contraction in ownership of dwellings.
Across the states and territories the trends in tourism product output are:
Australian Capital Territory
New South Wales
Northern Territory
Victoria
Queensland
South Australia
Tasmania
Western Australia
Across Australia the estimated level of employment (place of work) supported by tourism has increased by approximately 64,139 jobs to a total of 676,581 jobs. Tourism supports an estimated 6.3 percent of jobs in Australia.
Subscribers to REMPLAN Economy are able to access the new tourism data via:
www.remplanlogin.com.au/economy
When you login into REMPLAN select your (June 2018) dataset under the ‘Regions’ tab. The ‘Tourism’ tab at the top of the screen presents your new information.
