20 Nov REMPLAN Notice – ABS 2016 Census Release
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
The ABS released the following advice today:
“There was a discrepancy in the process used to transform detailed workplace location information into data suitable for output. Due to the highly specialised nature of this process, the ABS did not pick up on the issue until after the release of the data. We are working to correct this as quickly as possible and will release the updated information in early December.”
What does this mean for the REMPLAN update?
Place of work employment data is an important input into REMPLAN Economy and the impact of the above announcement is that the REMPLAN update scheduled for late November will be delayed.
We are waiting on further clarification from the ABS however their initial guidance is that the revised place of work data will be released in early December. Once the revised data is available the REMPLAN team will work hard to update all clients’ REMPLAN data, software and public profiles as soon as possible.
We will keep you informed as more information is released by the ABS. We understand that many of you are waiting for this data and working to your own project deadlines. We apologise for any inconvenience this delay creates. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
REMPLAN Community clients, please note: your software and public profiles have already been updated with the 2016 place of work data released by the ABS. It is very likely that these estimates will be revised by the ABS. Our advice at this stage is to delay use of the data until further guidance is available from the ABS.
