14 Jan Tourism Insights – December 2024 update

In the lead-up to the end of 2024, new ‘2024 Release 1’ REMPLAN Economy datasets were rolled out. This update has followed recent releases from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS):
- Gross State Product (GSP), released by the ABS on 20 November 2024
- Tourism Satellite Account (TSA), released by the ABS on 4 December 2024
GSP data delivers new insights into the economic performance of our states, territories, and regions, and the TSA is a yearly report that assesses Australia’s tourism industry from an economic perspective. It measures the economic impact of tourism on the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employment, and trade. For most regions across Australia, this update reveals the continued recovery and growth of the visitor economy.
