NEW REMPLAN Community Profile

I NEED TO BUILD AND PROMOTE AN UNDERSTANDING OF MY COMMUNITIES
For Release in October 2012
REMPLAN Community Profiles are an ideal resource for building informed insights into the unique characteristics of your communities:
  • Public access website to inform a range of audiences
  • Simple to use tool for community planning
  • Easy to implement – the profile page is linked to your website and incorporates your branding
  • Engaging demographic data, dynamic thematic mapping and time series analysis.
REMPLAN Community Profiles are public-access websites servicing a range of audiences including community groups, health and education providers, government agencies, businesses, potential investors, prospective new residents, researchers, students and media organisations.  Data and analysis is presented for your communities of interest based on local government areas, suburbs, localities, council wards and other custom areas defined by you.  Dynamic thematic mapping displays the spatial structure of your communities across a range of demographic measures.

The Community Profiles present demographic data under the following core themes:
Population –   trends, forecasts, birthplace, indigenous, arrival in Australia, language spoken at home, religion
Education –    school year completed, qualifications, institution attending
Work –            employment status, employment type, industries, occupations, commute, unpaid work
Housing –       households (types), households (people), ownership, housing costs, dwellings
Wellbeing –     unemployment rate, income, building approvals, car ownership, internet, assistance, disadvantage, disengaged youth
To assist in understanding how your communities are changing over time data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ (ABS) Census 2001, 2006 and 2011 is provided.
Online Profiles are maintained by REMPLAN, are accessible from any computer and are compatible with all commonly used Internet browsers.
HOW  CAN  I  SHARE  INFORMATION?
Graphs, charts, tables and maps generated by REMPLAN Community profiles can be saved, emailed or shared with others via social media.  Convenient links to Facebook, Twitter, Linked In and Google+ are included.
I  NEED  ACCESS  TO  MORE  DETAILED  DEMOGRAPHIC  DATA
Staff members of organisations that subscribe to REMPLAN Community Profile can also have “staff only” access to ‘REMPLAN Community’.   REMPLAN Community provides demographic data for any single or combination of mesh block, statistical area 1, statistical area 2, suburbs, localities and council wards, within your local government area or broader region of interest.
For each demographic measure, data is provided at the most detailed level available.
REMPLAN community also incorporates a number of analytical resources:
Population and Housing Model – the model estimates the likely requirements for housing by dwelling type based on population projections; and estimates the likely population outcomes associated with the changes to local housing stock
Site Analysis Model – a demographic profile is generated of an area that is defined by the travel time or distance from a specified location; and based on a particular group of people (e.g. 19 – 24 year olds) the model generates maps highlighting the spatial hotspots…places where these people are most numerous.
WHY  IS  REMPLAN  COMMUNITY  PROFILE  A  VALUABLE  TOOL?
REMPLAN community profile is an easy to use but powerful tool for planning and economic development. Once in place, REMPLAN community profile offers a greater understanding of the unique characteristics of your communities.   These insights assist your organisation and its stakeholders to make evidenced based decisions in relation to planning, investment and service delivery.
HOW CAN  I  USE  REMPLAN  COMMUNITY  PROFILE?
REMPLAN community profiles are not standard websites but rather highly flexible resources that enable users to focus on specific localities as well as particular groups of people in the community.  This flexibility enables the user to quickly focus on the aspects of the community that are of particular interest to them.   For instance, the communities of interest of a preschool operator will be very different to those of an aged care provider.   Data is displayed as compelling charts, graphs, tables and dynamic thematic maps.
The integration of social media into the community profiles also assists in the dissemination of the information to targeted audiences.
The launch of the new Community Profiles is planned for September 2012.  To register your interest in a REMPLAN Community Profile for your organisation, or to arrange a presentation, please contact the team at REMPLAN:   1300 737 443;    info@remplan.com.au
