Unemployment and Population Data Update

We are pleased to advise that REMPLAN online economic and community profiles have been updated with the latest area-specific unemployment rate and estimated residential population data.
REMPLAN online profiles now incorporate unemployment rate data for the December 2014 quarter.

Estimates for local government areas and small areas are sourced from the Department of Employment Small Area Labour Markets (SALM) datasets. For states, territories and other large regions, unemployment rate data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Labour Force Survey is presented.
To access unemployment rate data via the online profiles, select the ‘Trends’ tab towards the top right of the screen, then select ‘Unemployment’ from the sub-menu. Click on the image below to view a live example:

REMPLAN online profiles now incorporate the latest estimated residential population data (June 2014).
Estimates for all areas are sourced from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (Cat 3218.0 – Regional Population Growth). The estimates presented in the online profiles are final for 2001 to 2011, revised for 2012 and 2013, and preliminary for 2014.
To access population data via the online profiles, select the ‘Trends’ tab towards the top right of the screen, then select ‘Population’ from the sub-menu. Click on the image below to view a live example:

The latest estimated residential population data is also displayed on the summary page of REMPLAN online community profiles, select the ‘Summary’ tab towards the top of the screen. The latest (June 2014) population estimate is circled in red in the example below:
