Initially, we delivered the translated profiles to a small number of clients in Western Australia.  Based on positive responses, we decided to roll out the translations across all our economic profiles.  Councils are finding that the translated profiles send a clear signal that their region is ‘open for business’ with China; and the profiles have also provided useful resources for trade delegations.

Australia’s engagement with China will likely broaden over coming years.  This will include sectors that service households directly (e.g. retail, health, finance), driving interest in the demographic characteristics of people and places.  In this context we have decided to extend the Chinese translations to our community profiles as well.  The translations will be delivered to REMPLAN Community Package and REMPLAN Suite subscribers at no additional cost.
