22 Feb Update Feb 2012 – REMPLAN Online Economic Profile
The first operational example of the REMPLAN public access online economic profile was presented at the 2011 Economic Development Australia National Conference in Adelaide 2011. Since then we have received a great deal of feedback, in particular from Auburn City Council, our partner in developing the inaugural public access profile to inform businesses, potential investors, prospective new residents, researchers, students and media organisations.
The REMPLAN economic profiles detail industry contributions to employment, output, wages and salaries, exports, imports and value added. The profiles provide valuable insights into the region’s workforce, highlight opportunities for import replacement and capture the value of tourism for the local economy. The online profiles aim to ‘keep it simple’ by providing valuable insights into local economy without overloading viewers with too much detail. Our view is that this approach maximises the utility of the resource. Should a business or potential investor require additional information then the Council has access to the full version of the REMPLAN economic modelling and analysis system behind the scenes.
